Reiki School Day 5: Attention & Intention

ree

Dear Reiki Student,

Don't forget to do your daily practice today, but before you do, let me introduce today's theme:

When you decide to give your body, your being some attention for the duration of our Reiki Practice everyday, you are choosing to break the cycle of distraction, through others, through media, through anything really.

It's a battle for your attention.

So taping in, setting reminders that you follow through everyday, to do your daily practice, and we are talking about 5 to 10 minutes can be difficult, but view it as a discipline, as something. you're trying to implement to your daily routine. It gets better with the days passing by, when it really sets in.

You'll naturally get up or go to bed with that in mind, and practice practice practice.

There's so many benefits to receiving Reiki, to nourishing your energy field. Health benefits that have been studied by science (to know more, please read Energy Medicine by Jill Blakeway), and real benefits you can witness yourself: "ah! I felt better today", or "ha! I cried, I released an emotion and I feel a bit closer to resolution towards that issue in my life."

And so, I want you to know that you can set intentions before every Reiki practice.

(this will help you in offering Reiki sessions to others later in this class, to help them get acquainted with what their session could be, setting intentions together is a wonderful invitation to be involved in the process of healing or receiving healing).

And please say your intentions out loud: to your room, to your space, to the plants around, the human people & animal people around, to your guides, but also to your whole energy field, including the body, your subconscious, your shadow, your inner child.

(Using your voice is creating sound, which is a vibration, which is felt and made real, so from a thought in your mind, you are already manifesting something into reality when you say it outloud.)

It's a way to prepare, ask permission to your full self, who might also need to be included in that intention setting and consent.

Take time, focus on an intention for today, or for the next week.

Become the choice maker, decide what you want to heal, witness, give attention to.

If you want to comment and share your intention, feel free to do so.

Have a wonderful practice, see you tomorrow!

My intention this week is to continue to discern between urges / impulses and my intuition / inner knowing: To tune in to the desires and needs that my body is communicating, and then to being intentional about how to act upon what it's telling me, and the place that it's coming from. Is it a kindness to take a nap after an exhausting day, or is it an avoidance tactic? Is it 'YOLO' to eat Doritos for dinner or does it mean I really need to get around to filling my ADHD script? And, in any case, working to trust myself, and let go of the idea that there is even a 'wrong' way in the first place.
