Reiki School Day 36: The different layers of your energy body

The Subtle Body:

So far, we’ve witnessed the aura from an intuitive and heartfelt perspective.

This is the only one we can “prove”.

The method of sensing / channeling is something quite simple to stay in a state of exploration instead of doubt facing all this spiritual work. Writing about things doesn't make them true, no matter who is the person or who they are channeling.

That's why discernment is a tool that will help you: notice how it feels, what it entails, and choose to keep the information or not.

Now, I’d like to just pinpoint what others have said about what the aura "could be",

but let’s keep in mind: it’s not scientifically proven, it is a perspective that might be offered by people with an agenda: we all have biases, nothing is truly objective.

And so, review the next informations with your own gut feeling, and let it float around for explorative thoughts, and not as “written in stone" facts.

First, there's the ancestral accounts we have about what the energy body is & its functioning.

I'm happy to report this can be a guidance, but a little information I need to mention is: we're all different, and - in those ancestral times, the context was widely different, and so the practices were adapted to their times. Humans had a very different energy body than we have now.

Trainings and spiritual initiations appeared drastic in the temples (like Egypt's initiations at the Kom Ombo pyramid included swimming with alligators in order to cleanse you / shock you with fear as to activate your reptilian brain & the fight or flight responses, how you control it, and that would initiate your root chakra).

Now the spiritual path is not a walk in the park, but in no way do we need to undertake such journeys nowadays to activate energy centers or even "ascend".

I don't know if you're familiar with the concept of ascension but it's a rhetoric that's widely used to show spiritual advancements.

Certainly, we need to transmute our individual & collective shadows, change is needed, but can we really even *elevate and ascend* which are words that create the consensus we are to forego our human needs, desires, complexities and paradoxes.

We are human, we chose to be here, and reinforcing duality with such words create a rift between our emotions, our instincts and all that make us who we are.

Please review any agenda that comes to you, attached to you subscribing to it - especially if it's something *everyone* talks about, using the same words, and without critical thinking.

Duality (the creation of two opposing parties, generally with an opinion on which is good) is very real, and to observe it is to detach from it.

Let's go into:

The different layers of your energy body from the book: The Subtle Body: An Encyclopedia of Your Energetic Anatomy by Cyndi Dale. (She has a TV show on Gaia about this book).

ree

Physical field: Lowest in frequency. Regulates the human body. Etheric field: Blueprint for the physical structure that it surrounds. There is also an etheric field for the soul. Emotional field: Regulates the emotional state of the organism. Mental field: Processes ideas, thoughts, and beliefs. Astral field: A nexus between the physical and spiritual realms. Free of time and space. Etheric template: Exists only on the spiritual plane and holds the highest ideals for existence. Celestial field: Accesses universal energies and serves as a template for the etheric fields. Causal field: Directs lower levels of existence.

Ketheric: Relates to all the spiritual body's energy fields, as regulated by the Crown Chakra

Barbara Ann Brennan is the one who mapped most of the work of the energy field layers (you can read her book Hands of Light).

It gets pretty confusing to find the same information, a lot of people are confused and confusing. Does this information really matter?

What is the aura then?

alligators???!!! i currently (pun unintended) live in walking distance of the coast and something i've been doing recently to help ground myself when i'm disregulated is something i refer to as "drowning practice" where i'll go into the water and literally just play in with the waves until i've broken through abject terror (have a phobia of the ocean and viscerally react to anything that feels too cold for me (ex: the atlantic ocean)) into a state of clear-headed numbness. initiation through fear/discomfort is powerful (i think that is why some are drawn to fasting practices) so that was really interesting to hear about. i also just get hella excited whenever anyone teaches me something new about kemet. and how…
